An oasis to come together under the stars amongst the sand dunes, to dance, even on moonless nights, to rejoice, after having been confined, stagnant. Light and airy, Philip Huang SS21 Oasis has a familiarity, essentials re-imagined. With a focus on comfort, simple lines with a keen eye for detail and the signature Philip Huang “slight exaggeration”, the pieces provide protection from the extremes that Mother Earth throws at us in a natural way - biohacking with the power of natural dyes and natural fibres.
The clothes are convertible and functional - moving seamlessly from day-to-night. Introduces new colors, Dune, made from local Sakon Nakhon mud and Moonless, an almost-black made from indigo and ebony berries. Hand-dyed and artisanal pieces are made in collaboration with the Indigo Grandmas of Sakon Nakhon.
Embroidery and hand-stitching throughout the collection is made in collaboration with the Fatima Self-Help Center in Bangkok by women from disadvantaged families and urban refugees, providing additional sustained income to these communities.
