Our visual essay, Finding Oasis won Best Documentary at A SHADED VIEW OF FASHION FILM 12. Thanks so much to the dream team that made this happen, our cinematographer Sayombhu Mukdeeprom, our producer Cattleya Paosrijarern (and assistant producer Duke), our supervising editor, Lee Chatametikool, sound supervisor, Akrikritchalerm Kalaynamitr and  The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band. Special thanks to our artistic director, Lars Byrresen Petersen, our stylist Shun Watanabe, White Light Post and Ritual Projects.

The essay is dedicated to our Indigo Grandmas and the next generation of artisans in Isan and beyond, of whom we are most grateful and inspired. Alas, thank you also to Apichatpong Weerasethakul, it was through his films that we first journeyed to Isan in the first place.

ABOUT ASVOFF

Founded by Diane Pernet, ASVOFF (A Shaded View of Fashion Film) is the world's first film festival dedicated to fashion, style and beauty. Since its launch in 2008, ASVOFF has gained critical acclaim for encouraging both emerging and established artists to reconsider the way that fashion is presented and for challenging the conventional parameters. ASVOFF tours the globe with screenings, this year with COVID-19 it has gone fully digital partnering up with FNL Network to make the films available via the FNL Network screening platform

Diane Pernet is a world-renowned fashion critic and video journalist based in Paris, France. Pernet was one of the earliest fashion journalists to embrace the power of the Internet, first through a column in online editions of Elle and Vogue and later through her own site, A SHADED VIEW ON FASHION (www.asvof.com) from 2005. Having founded ASVOFF in 2008 Pernet is widely considered to have incubated the "fashion film" from its infancy to the popular genre that it has become today.
